Thinking of You Card

| | | |

I made this card for a friend who recently lost her father-in-law. Sympathy cards are always hard for me to make. I want them to be simple, but comforting. I still have tons of cards that were sent to me when my father died 19 years ago and they still bring me comfort when I pull them out and read them. Hopefully this card will bring a little bit of comfort to their family.

ETA: I have had a lot of questions about how I embossed the card. To get the space in the middle, I ran the cardstock through my cuttlebug twice. The first time, I had the folder about 3/4 of the way down the paper. Then I flipped the embossing folder around and slipped the bottom of the paper inside just a tiny bit. That left the blank strip in the middle. Then I used my scoring tool to add a line on the top and bottom of the flat section. Hope that helps. *Ü*

  1. Lisa, you are the queen of clean & simple! That's why I've always loved your style… Beautiful card, I'm sure they'll apreciate it.

  2. Lisa, a quick question – is your sentiment strip another piece of CS, or did you shim your embossing folder to omit that strip? Can't tell from the pic – thanks! (my email is in my blogger profile)

  3. Your card is lovely and will be much appreciated, I'm sure. I'd also like to know how you got that plain strip on your embossing.

  4. Ditto Lori's question. I love my cuttlebug and end up moving and piece-ing but I love the strip you did. Can you tell me how you did it? 🙂
