Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape Cards

| | | | |

I’ve been having so much fun playing with Stampin’ Up!’s new Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape and the coordinating stamp and die bundle. They’re even more beautiful in person than I expected!

Check out these two cards I created using those fabulous products, along with the Party Alphabet Dies and Sweet Blooms Dies.

How I Made Them:

I started by die cutting the word “HEY” from a 4″ x 5¼” piece of Basic White Thick Cardstock. For one of the cards, I embossed the panel using the Floral embossing folder from the new Glass & Gardens Embossing Folder set. Tip: I ran it through twice to cover the whole piece!

Next, I applied a wide strip of the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape to a 3″ x 5″ Window Sheet. I flipped the die-cut cardstock over and adhered the Window Sheet behind the “HEY” cutout using SEAL+ for a secure hold. Then I popped the whole panel up onto a 5½” x 4¼” card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the first card, I used Berry Burst cardstock (with an Adhesive Sheet on the back) to die cut the word “lovely” from the Sweet Blooms Dies. I added it to the lower right corner, coordinating with the purple-toned flowers from the washi tape.

For the second card, I featured the pink flowers from the washi tape. The tape actually has two color palettes (one in purples and one in pinks) so I created a card for each! To coordinate, I die cut “lovely” from Strawberry Slush cardstock, which matches the pink flowers perfectly. I love how this shows off the different colors you can get from the same tape!

To finish off both cards, I made some flower embellishments by applying the washi tape to white cardstock and die cutting them with the coordinating die. All of the flowers are on one die and they line up perfectly, so you can cuts tons of flowers all at once! I adhered them with a few Dimensionals which gave them just the right amount of dimension.

Why I Love Washi Tape (And You Will Too!)

Washi tape is one of the most versatile and fun tools in any crafter’s stash. Here are just a few things you can do with it:

  • Create instant backgrounds by covering cardstock or window sheets, like I did here.
  • Die cut custom embellishments by layering washi onto cardstock and cutting it with the coordinating die.
  • Add borders or accents to card edges, envelopes, or inside card panels.
  • Decorate planner pages, tags, or gift wrap with colorful flair.
  • Layer it with vellum or acetate for a dreamy, translucent look.
  • Seal envelopes or treat bags in a decorative way.

And with the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape, the coordinating dies and stamp set make it even easier to get creative quickly. Whether you prefer pinks or purples, or both, you can easily customize your cards to match.

These cards came together quickly and were such a joy to make! The washi tape adds instant color and style, and the coordinating die makes it easy to create a cohesive look. I hope they inspire you to create something fun with the new Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape!
