Brrr…Something “Cold” – Heart 2 Heart Challenge

| | |

The challenge this week on the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog is to create a card that incorporates anything that makes you think of the word “COLD.” I chose to use ice cream cone stamp from the stamp set that comes with the Fanfare Workshop on the Go. I know my card isn’t very fancy, but it does make me think of cold ice cream. In fact, I think I am getting a brain freeze right now! LOL!

The sentiment is from the new Card Chatter – Birthday set. I masked a few of the words with a Post-It Note and then inked the stamp with Cocoa ink, removed the Post It, and stamped it on some white cardstock. Then I masked the other words, inked it up with some Cotton Candy ink and stamped right on top of my previously stamped image. (Oh how I love my clear stamps!)

The background is stamped with the Noted Backgrounds stamp set. I stamped it on our new Kraft cardstock with White Daisy ink. I love how the pigment ink looks on the Kraft cardstock.

Finally I stamped the ice cream cone on some Kraft cardstock, cut it out, flipped it over and then stamped the crisscross pattern from the Noted Background set in Chocolate ink. I also inked the edges with some Chocolate ink using a Sponge Dauber. The ice cream is stamped with Cotton Candy ink. I trimmed it out as well and adhered them both with Foam Tape.

Head on over to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog and check out what the other design team members created. There is some great eye candy over there!

Now it’s your turn. Be sure to post your “cold” creation on the H2H Challenge Blog and you may win a prize donated by our wonderful February sponsors, Shirley Ross from Mom ‘n Me Scrap and Sandra Strickler from Stampin’ and Scrappin’.

Have a great week!
Creatively Yours,

With the Bokeh technique being all the rage right now, I couldn’t wait to try it myself. 1. Love your card. Your background is awesome. The white ink does look good on the kraft paper. I am going to have to try it.

  2. Great card, Lisa! And, I'm so much more ready to think of cold as in ice cream than I am cold as in mittens and snowflakes!
