Sweet Roomie Gifts for OnStage

| | | | |

One of my favorite traditions when attending OnStage each year is putting together a little gift for my roommates. It’s a small way to celebrate our time together and make the event feel even more special. For the past several years I’ve given my roomies matching pajamas, and it’s always so fun to do a silly little photoshoot as we browse through the new catalog.

This year one of our sweet friends wasn’t able to attend OnStage with us, and we definitely missed having her there. Of course I still wanted her to be part of the tradition, so I mailed her a matching pair of pajamas so she could wear them at home and still feel like she was celebrating with us.

When I found these adorable (and incredibly soft!) pajamas with pink stripes and little lemons, I immediately thought of the Made with Sweetness stamp and die bundle. The colors and theme were just perfect, so I created custom tags to go along with each gift.

To create the striped background on the tags, I cut thin strips of Masking Paper and adhered them to a piece of Basic White cardstock to form stripes. Then I used a Blending Brush to add Strawberry Slush ink over the top. When I peeled off the masking strips, it revealed those fun pink and white stripes that perfectly matched the pajamas!

Next, I layered the striped cardstock with Daffodil Delight and Strawberry Slush cardstock to build the tag base. The lemon slice was die cut using Lemon Lolly cardstock for the inside and Daffodil Delight cardstock for the outer layer, then I blended a little Daffodil Delight ink around the edges to add dimension.

For the sentiment, I stamped the word “sweet” in Strawberry Slush ink on Basic White cardstock, fussy cut it, and popped it onto the tag. I stamped “as can be” directly onto the tag underneath.

To personalize the gifts, I added my roommate’s name by die cutting the letters using the Alphabet A La Mode dies. Amy’s name fit perfectly with the dies, but Christine’s name was a little too long, so I used a font called Roca Two and printed it directly onto her tag instead.

The finishing touch was the adorable little bee from the Made with Sweetness bundle. It’s such a tiny detail, but it ties everything together perfectly!

I had so much fun making these little tags, and it made the pajamas feel even more special. Little traditions like this are such a fun part of the friendships we build through stamping, and I’m already looking forward to next event and dreaming up what our roomie gifts might be!
