A Father’s Day Card for the Man Who Loves Boats & Lighthouses

Today I wanted to share a special Father’s Day card I made for my hubby. Since he has always loved boats and lighthouses, I knew this design would be perfect.

For the focal point, I used the beautiful Sunset Coast Dies to create the intricate lighthouse silhouette. Behind the die-cut image, I added a piece of Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper, which provides a peaceful waterfront scene complete with boats, trees, and mountains. The soft watercolor artwork was exactly what I was looking for and ties in perfectly with my hubby’s love of the water.

To help the focal image stand out, I matted the panel with Misty Moonlight Cardstock, which coordinates beautifully with the colors in the DSP and gives the card a crisp, finished look.

The background features the gorgeous new Textured Tree Ring 3D Embossing Folder, which creates incredible texture and interest while still allowing the focal point to shine. This embossing folder will be available beginning July 1, and I love the subtle organic texture it adds.

The sentiment, “Happy Father’s Day,” comes from the Relaxing Waterside Stamp Set. To add extra depth and dimension, I popped up the focal panel and sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how this card came together. The combination of the peaceful waterside scene, lighthouse imagery, and rich texture makes it feel both masculine and meaningful.
