Sweet Slimline Cards Featuring the Wild Bunch Stamp Set

| | | | | | |

I had so much fun creating these cheerful slimline cards featuring the adorable snail from the Wild Bunch Stamp Set! The combination of oversized die-cut words, soft ink-blended backgrounds, and cute little accents creates a clean and playful design that’s perfect for sending a smile or a little hello to a friend.

Even better, the Wild Bunch Stamp Set is June’s Product of the Month, which means you can purchase it for just $5 with a qualifying $75 order (while supplies last). And if you’ve been thinking about placing an order, it’s the perfect time because Stampin’ Up! is offering FREE SHIPPING on orders of $75 or more from June 11-13!

How I Made the Cards

I started by cutting a piece of cardstock to 8¼” x 3¼” and die-cutting the large words using the Party Alphabet Dies. For one card, I used the word “SMILE” and for the other, “HELLO.”

To create the background on the die-cut panel, I lightly blended Old Olive Ink along the bottom using a Blending Brush. Next, I stamped the grass image from the Springtime Scenes Stamp Set across the bottom using second-generation Old Olive Ink for a soft, subtle look.

For the sky, I hand-cut a few cloud shapes from scrap cardstock and used them as masks while lightly blending Misty Moonlight Ink across the top portion of the panel. This created the appearance of soft clouds drifting across the background.

Next, I cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 8½” x 7″ then scored it and folded in half to create the 8½” x 3½” card base and repeated the ink blending, adding Old Olive at the bottom and Misty Moonlight at the top.

Before adhering the die-cut panel, I temporarily positioned it on the card front so I could see exactly where the opening in the letter “E“ would be. Using that as a guide, I stamped the ”Hi, Friend” sentiment from the Wild Bunch Stamp Set in black ink so it would peek through the die-cut letter.

I then attached the die-cut panel to the card base using Foam Adhesive Strips, which added wonderful dimension and depth to the design.

To finish the cards, I stamped the snail and heart images from the Wild Bunch Stamp Set onto scrap cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored them with Stampin’ Blends Markers in Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Crumb Cake, then carefully fussy cut them with scissors and adhered them to the card front.

The adorable snail paired with the oversized greeting creates a simple card that’s sure to brighten someone’s day!
