Quick and Easy Valentine with Free Design Space File

| | | | | | | | |
Are you looking for a quick and easy (and cute) Valentine project? I am happy to say that this year, my daughter and I actually finished her Valentines two days early and we are happy to share it with you! We are usually up the night before trying to get everything done. This year I found some cute Ghirardelli Valentine chocolates in bulk at Costco that I knew would be perfect. I created a simple box with a flower closure at the top in Design Space that would fit the chocolates perfectly. I used the free images in Design Space so that anyone with a Cricut Explore machine could use the file. You don’t need to have any particular cartridge or purchased image. I will share a link at the end of this post.
This is what the box looks like when it is closed. I thought it would be cute to attach a gift tag to the box with some white twine so I created a tag shape along with a “reinforcement hole” shape in Design Space as well. We cut the reinforcement hole out of the same patterned paper that we used for the box.
After we cut the tags from some white cardstock, we stamped the sentiment in black ink from a Close to my Heart stamp set called A Little Love, which is a set that is only available to CTMH Consultants. (If you’d like information about signing up to become a CTMH Consultant, you can visit my New Consultant FAQ page here.) The tiny heart, which is stamped in Cranberry ink, is from the Hello Lovely Cardmaking stamp set.

After stamping the tags and adhering the “reinforcement hole” at the top, my daughter signed each one and we attached them to the “gifts.” She is very excited about handing them out at school on Valentine’s Day this week.
If you’d like to make these too, here is a link to the Design Space file which includes the box shape, along with the tag, and reinforcement hole image.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
