Blog Backgrounds

|

As you may have noticed, I have been playing with my blog backgrounds for the past couple weeks. I keep going back and forth between wanting to have a cute background and not. (Thanks Kimberly for your sweet comment about the background I had up during the past few days.)

I decided that the backgrounds I was playing with, although cute, were too bold and distracting, so…I am going to leave the background white until I can figure out a way to make it more subtle.

This card was inspired by Melanie Mcbride. Her version was so beautiful that I just had to stop what I was doing and make a card like it. It uses Close to my Heart’s Heart of Winter Promotion called “Serendipity,” which includes patterned paper, textured cardstock, punchouts and a super cute stamp set. I also…

“Oh my word!” is what I said out loud when I received this in the mail yesterday. Rachel from Wonderfully Whimsy sent me this beautiful book. Isn’t it amazing? Check out the detailed sewing. Wow! Thank you soooo much Rachel! You are a sweetheart!

Sorry I have been a little MIA. I have been having a blast, although working hard, at the 3 Ring Circus Consignment event over the past few days. Today is the last day and most of what’s left is going to be 50% off! Woo-Hoo! Anyway, since I haven’t been too busy creating much the…

  1. Hope you find a happy medium for your blog. I just spruced mine up a bit with a kit from Shabby Miss Jenn. I think I like it and may have learned enough from the tutorial to try to do something on my own. (now THAT’S a scary thought). *Ü*

  2. Yes, I was going to tell you about SMJ, but Jeanne beat me to it. They do have some really nice blog kits for sale there. I went to that website you posted a while back and I thought that the pages were nice, but that the scale was off a bit. So, I made my own using the digital kit of my choosing. It was super easy and I can change it to suit whatever holiday or season I want.

I hope you find something you like!

  3. I can’t believe I just read this post!!! I am surfing blogs with the same decision in mind. I think I am going back to white!

  4. Hi Lisa!

I like a plain background myself. I think when the backgrounds are too busy they compete with the artwork. Love your blog! BTW, I left you something on my blog!

    Happy Stamping!
