Simply Inspired Blog Hop – Free to Be Me

| | | |
Welcome to this month’s Simply Inspired Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Delightful Denise’s blog, you are in the right place. This month we are celebrating National Scrapbooking Month by highlighting the fabulous Free to Be Me kit that is only available during the month of May. You can get this kit for just $5 with a $50 order which also qualifies you to get the Stamp of the Month for just $5 as well. I thought it would be fun to show you how you can use the Stamp of the Month with this great paper.

I created the background of this card by bringing the chevron overlay on page 44 of the Artbooking Cricut cartridge booklet into Design Space (or you could use Cricut Craft Room if you do not have the Explore machine) and stretching it to fit an A2 sized card.
I cut strips of the Free to Be Me cardstock to fit behind the overlay. I’m not sure if you can see it in the photo, but each color of cardstock has a different UV-coated pattern on it.
The Free to Be Me kit also has two beautiful sheets of vellum. I used the gold polka dot sheet on my card, but there is also a printed feather pattern sheet as well. I adhered the polka dot vellum to a piece of tan cardstock by fixing a regular sized Glue Dot behind the gold dots on the vellum. They fit perfectly!
The sentiment image is from the May Stamp of the Month called You’ve Got a Friend. I stamped the image on the red patterned paper from the Free to Be Me kit and trimmed it out. I stamped it again onto a piece of White Daisy cardstock, masking the middle so that I could stamp it once more in Ruby ink.
I finished off the card by adhering the overlay and the sentiment to the card base with 3-D Foam Tape to give it some dimension.
Here is a look at all of the papers in the Free to Be Me kit. Aren’t the trendy patterns and colors fun?
Now hop on over to Dana Kessler’s blog to see her fabulous creation!
