Seasonal Expressions 1 – Simply Inspired Blog Hop

| | | |

Welcome to the latest Simply Inspired Blog Hop. This month we are featuring projects made using brand new products from Close to my Heart’s new Seasonal Expressions 1 Mini Catalog. If you arrived here from Debbi Fournier’s blog, then you are in the right place.

One of my favorite new products is the Springtime Wishes stamp set along with the coordinating Thin Cuts Metal Dies. (Our new Thin Cuts Dies are so much fun!!!!) I used them both along with our watercolor paints to create this card.

The photo below shows the front of the card when it is completely closed. (The photo above shows the card when it is slightly open.) To create the flowers, I watercolored a piece of CTMH’s watercolor paper. After it was completely dry, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Springtime Wishes stamp set with Black Memento Ink. Then I cut them out using the coordinating Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts Dies. You can either cut your shapes first and then stamp them or you can stamp and then cut. I prefer to stamp first. I use a small piece of Washi Tape to hold the dies in place over my stamped images before running the paper through my Cuttlebug machine.

I cut 1″ off the right side of the front flap of the card base. Then I adhered the die cut flowers and leaves over the right edge of the card with various layers of 3-D Foam Tape. I added a few Clear Sparkles to the center of some of the flowers. Then I stamped the “Thank You” sentiment (also from the Springtime Wishes stamp set) to the left of the flowers.
I like to embellish the inside of my cards lately as well. I used a small piece of White Glitter Paper on the inside of the card that peeks through on the right side of the card when it is closed. Then I cut a thin strip of the watercolored paper and adhered it to the edge of the Glitter Paper. I stamped the “for your kindness” up the side of the strip.
Finally I added another flower and some leaves to the bottom of the inside of the card to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Now hop on over to Brenda Rose’s blog to see her fabulous creation. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of all of the participants here.

Here are a couple more Studio J layouts that I created using the Leadershare instructions. I love how faster, simpler, and easier it is to scrapbook with Studio J. Plus these layouts blend in with my classic layouts so well. When flipping through my kid’s albums, no one can tell which ones are Studio J…

Yesterday was my son’s 7th birthday. I can hardly believe that my little Ryan is SEVEN! It seems like just yesterday that he was a tiny little 5 pound baby! If you know my son at all, he is not much into sports or other typical 7-year-old “boy” stuff. He is into anything electronic. (He…
