December POM: True Blue Florals DSP Shaker Tags

| | | | |

The new Product of the Month Program starts today, and I am so excited to kick things off by sharing a fun project I created with the December POTM: True Blue Florals Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous 12″ x 12″ paper pack includes 12 sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided designs) featuring soft Balmy Blue and deep Night of Navy tones. It is absolutely beautiful in person and so easy to craft with.

The best part is that you can get this DSP for just $5 during December with a $75 order. It is only available while supplies last, so if this paper is calling your name, don’t wait too long to grab it.

Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing several projects made with this lovely paper. Today, I’m starting with a shaker tag that was so much fun to make. You’ll find a full supply list at the bottom of the post.

How I Made the Shaker Tag

I began by using the Fright Night Dies to create my tag base. By nesting the smaller die inside the larger one, I was able to create a thin border. I first cut a Balmy Blue border, then used the same dies to cut a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet. Using the larger die, I cut the Window Sheet and the Night of Navy floral DSP which became the background of the shaker.

In the center of the DSP, I added a mix of Loose Gold Sequins and Gold Shaker Stars. To attach the twine at the top, I added a tiny circle of foam near the top of the Night of Navy DSP (a Mini Dimensional would also work). Then I wrapped the twine around it before sealing the shaker by layering the Foam Adhesive border, the die-cut Window Sheet and the Balmy Blue border on top. To cover the small piece of foam, I adhered a small circle of Balmy Blue cardstock (cut using a standard sized hole punch) on top of the Window Sheet. I fussy cut a few leaves from another sheet of DSP and adhered them to the left side for extra detail.

For the sentiment, I die cut the banner (also from the Fright Night Dies) from white cardstock. I curved the sentiment from Artistic Leaves on my block to match the banner shape, then stamped it in Night of Navy ink. To finish things off, I added a Night of Navy bow cut from the Christmas Greenery Dies.
