Horizontal Z-Fold Card Featuring Luxe Foliage DSP

| | | |

I’ve been having a lot of fun playing with the gorgeous Luxe Foliage Designer Series Paper, and I’m excited to share another card I made with it today! This time I used the beautiful Secret Sea DSP from the pack to create a Horizontal Z-Fold Card.

Creating the Card Base

To make the card, I started with a piece of 11″ x 4¼” Basic White Thick Cardstock and scored it at 2¾” and 5½” to create the horizontal Z-fold card base.

For the inside of the card, I used the gorgeous Secret Sea pattern from the Luxe Foliage Designer Series Paper. I love how the gold details really pop against the deep Secret Sea background!

Finding the Perfect Coordinating DSP

I also wanted a coordinating Designer Series Paper for the outside panel. I went searching through my DSP collection and found that the Secret Sea polka dot pattern from the Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper coordinated perfectly!

I love when you can mix and match papers from different collections and find a combination that looks like it was made to go together.

I matted both DSP patterns with a Gold Foil Sheet before adhering them to the card base. The thin gold borders really help tie all of the gold elements together.

Adding the Flowers and Leaves

I wanted to carry some of the beautiful florals from the DSP onto the front of the card, so I fussy cut several of the large flowers from the Luxe Foliage DSP. I used two of them on the front of the card and added two more to the left side of the sentiment panel on the inside.

To add a little more gold, I die cut some leaves from a Gold Foil Sheet using the Lustrous Leaves Hot Foil Dies. And here’s a fun little detail. I didn’t actually hot foil anything on this card! Some of the dies can also be used on their own to cut beautiful leaf shapes, and they worked perfectly for this project.

The tiny gold flowers were die cut using the Flowering Meadows Dies. These little flowers were the perfect finishing touch and added just a bit more sparkle without overwhelming the design.

A Little Message and Dimension

For the sentiment, I used the Radiant Sunflowers Stamp Set. I kept the sentiment panels clean and simple so that the flowers and gorgeous DSP could take center stage.

I adhered the flowers and leaves using a combination of Liquid Adhesive and Stampin’ Dimensionals. Adding Dimensionals to a few of the pieces gives the flowers some extra depth and makes them stand out from the card.

I really love how this card turned out! The combination of Secret Sea, white, and gold feels so elegant, and the Z-fold gives you plenty of space to showcase the beautiful DSP. I hope this card gives you some inspiration for using your Luxe Foliage DSP in a new way. And don’t be afraid to mix in papers from other collections, too. You might just find the perfect coordinating pattern hiding in your stash!
