Trusty Tools Father’s Day Card

| | |

Happy Father’s Day! Today’s the perfect day to honor all the amazing dads, grandpas, and father figures out there. What better way to do that than with a handmade card straight from the heart? I created this card for my husband using Stampin’ Up!’s Trusty Tools stamp set and coordinating dies.

🔧 Card Details
This card features a fun, hand-cut faux denim pocket filled with stamped and die-cut tools. To create the realistic metallic look, I stamped the tops of the wrench and hammer onto Silver Foil Sheets using Memento Black ink, then heat embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I stamped the same tools onto Basic White cardstock and colored the handles using Stampin’ Blends markers. I carefully cut out each piece with my Paper Snips and adhered the embossed silver tops to the colored handles for a dimensional, layered effect.

The woodgrain background gives the card a rustic, workshop feel, and the sentiment “Happy Father’s Day” is heat embossed in white directly onto the pocket for a bold, clean look.

🎨 Creative Tips

  • Use Night of Navy white-core two-toned cardstock and sand it with a small piece of sandpaper to give it a denim look.
  • Add some faux stitching with a white gel-pen.
  • Pop the pocket up with Dimensionals to give the card depth and dimension.

👨‍🔧 This project is perfect for the guy who’s always there to fix what’s broken, and for all the love and support he gives year round.

Wishing all the amazing dads a wonderful day! 💙
