March Product of the Month Is Here – Meet Notes of Spring

| | | | | | |

The March Product of the Month is officially available, and I am so excited to share the first project I created with it! This month’s Product of the Month is called Notes of Spring, and it is full of the sweetest springtime images. You’ll find an adorable deer, bunny, and duck, along with delicate river plants that are perfect for creating soft little scenes. It also includes several all-occasion sentiments, making it easy to finish your handmade cards for birthdays, thank yous, and more.

The best part? You can add the Notes of Spring stamp set to your collection for just $5 with a $75 order during the month of March. This special offer is available while supplies last, so if this set is calling your name, be sure to grab it before it’s gone!

Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing several projects using this darling stamp set. Today I’m kicking things off with a sweet baby gift box. You’ll find the full supply list at the bottom of this post.

How I Made the Gift Box

If you’re anything like me and love the Stampin’ Up! Kit Collection Kits, you probably have a stash of leftover boxes. They’re just too sturdy (and too cute!) to throw away, so I love giving them new life in my projects.

For this gift box, I reused the box from the retired Handmade & Heartfelt Kit. It’s slightly longer than the standard kit box, which made it perfect for what I had in mind. I covered the top with a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Nature Walk collection to give it a soft, outdoorsy feel.

Creating the Banner

To create the decorative banner across the front:

  • I started with four pieces of 12″ x 1¼” Woodgrain Wonders DSP and scored each strip every ¼”.
  • After folding them into a zigzag pattern, I attached the ends to form pinwheels.
  • I flattened each one and added a Cloud Cover die-cut circle using one of the Spotlight on Nature dies.
  • To keep the pinwheels flat, I adhered an additional cardstock circle to the back.

On top, I layered:

  • A Secret Sea cardstock circle punched with a 1¼” circle punch.
  • Four white cardstock circles die cut with another die from the Spotlight on Nature set.

I stamped the river plants/reeds from the March Product of the Month at the bottom of each white circle using second-generation Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink for a soft background look. Then I stamped the letters in the center using the new Simple Alphabet set in Secret Sea ink and attached them with Dimensionals.

Adding the Sweet Details

Next came the stars of the show! I stamped the adorable bunny and deer in Memento Black ink. The inside details were stamped in Crumb Cake, and I colored the ears with Petal Pink Blends Markers. After fussy cutting them out, I attached them to the pinwheels with Dimensionals for added depth.

To finish it off:

  • I strung the pinwheels together with Linen Thread
  • Attached the banner to the box
  • Added a Cloud Cover Ribbon bow to each side for a soft, polished touch

I just love how the soft colors and woodland details came together to create such a charming little baby gift box!
