Botanical Glow with a Touch of Gold

| | | |

After creating this Christmas pouch I shared last week using the Botanical Glow Bundle, I still had the stamp set and coordinating Hot Foil Die sitting on my desk. I loved the combination of the stamped and foiled images, so I decided to use them again to create this card.

I started with a piece of Lost Lagoon Two-Toned cardstock and stamped the leaf image from the Botanical Glow Stamp Set on the dark side using Lost Lagoon ink. I then used a Blending Brush to add more Lost Lagoon ink around the edges of the cardstock, creating a little more depth in the background.

Next, I used the coordinating Botanical Glow Hot Foil Die and the Stampin’ Hot Foil System to add the beautiful gold foiled leaf image. Then I adhered the stamped and foiled cardstock to a Basic White Thick Cardstock card base. I love how the subtle tone-on-tone stamping peeks through behind the delicate gold foil!

For the sentiment, I had some gold foiled pieces left over from the Sweetly Sentimental hot foil die that I created while making this previous project. I layered the “Here’s to a Lifetime of Happiness” piece onto Lost Lagoon cardstock and then onto a piece of vellum, trimming the corners of each layer with scissors to match the shape of the gold sentiment piece. I finished by adhering the layered sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how this card combines the subtle stamped background with the beautiful shine of the gold foil. It was also a great reminder to look at the supplies and leftover pieces already on my desk. You never know what they might inspire next!

I hope this inspires you to give your leftover pieces a second look and experiment with combining stamping and hot foiling on your next project!
